ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Sept. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Cianna Medical, Inc., the world leader in wire-free breast localization, today announced that over 350 hospitals have implemented the SCOUT® Radar Breast Localization System and to date, over 45,000 women have had a wire-free localization experience. More impressively, close to one third of these facilities have adopted SCOUTCare™, a comprehensive training, certification and communications program that supports their commitment to a wire-free standard of care for all women.
The SCOUTCare program is designed to support a facility’s mission of “moving beyond wires” through the adoption of the SCOUT® system to help reduce operating room costs, improve operational efficiency and reduce stress for women who are going through one of the most difficult times in their lives. SCOUTCare provides multi-modality training for radiologists, surgeons and allied health professionals, including customized implementation planning, certification of clinical team and facility, coding and reimbursement guidance as well as a patient assistance program. The hands-on operational and clinical support allows for workflow efficiencies that improve service. The program also enables hospitals to help more women have wire-free tumor localization, which is simply a better patient experience.
“With SCOUTCare, we are able to align breast care programs across the U.S that are integrating their compassion for patients with our SCOUT technology. This program is one more way that we are helping our customers make breast cancer surgery easier for their patients,” said Jill Anderson, President and CEO of Cianna Medical. “SCOUTCare, along with the SCOUT system, is another way we’re helping to ease the burden of breast cancer for women and their families and it makes doing the right thing for patients very easy.”
About SAVI SCOUT®
SCOUT is uniquely suited for marking tumors and biopsy sites prior to neoadjuvant therapy. It is important to note that, because the
SCOUT reflector has a clinically insignificant MRI artifact, it does not interfere with MRI studies, so there is no restriction on the imaging
modalities that can be used effectively throughout treatment. With seven peer-reviewed publications and over 20 clinical abstracts, the
SCOUT system has been proven to be easy to use and provides accurate detection and precise localization. SCOUT also has been shown
to improve radiology work flow and significantly reduce OR delays. SCOUT has received significant recognition from medical societies and
industry associations including the ASBS Scientific Impact Award, he Gold Award for Medical Design Excellence Award and the Premier
Innovation Award. Please visit www.ciannamedical.com for more information.
